A few days after my big fat Indian wedding, my father-in-law announced to the room that we were going to get blessings from the elders and started walking towards my bedroom.
Say what?
I had no idea what that meant especially since all the 'elders' I knew had left.
The whole family got up and followed my father-in-law into my bedroom. Once we got there, my sister-in-law took out a notebook and pen and began to write. I stood there confused. My father-in-law sat beside her and began to read what she wrote:
"Welcome to the family, new daughter-in-law! How are you?"
Turns out she was channeling messages from her grandfather who had passed on. And he was asking me how I was and welcoming me into the family.
I was pretty dumbfounded and looked at my husband inquisitively. He had conveniently forgotten to mention that his family not only believed in communicating with relatives who had passed but also considered it a very normal thing. To this day, we argue about whether he told me about this before or not. If he did, I think I would remember, don't you think?
This was the first time I was introduced to the idea of mediumship and auto-writing. I remember awkwardly answering "I am fine" out of respect for everyone there and the rest of that conversation is a blur (a likely after-effect of shock?)
We moved to the US shortly after and we didn't speak about it much, and I chalked it to this being "his family's thing".
A couple of years later when we went back to visit his parents in India, we learned that since my sister-in-in-law was moving out, my mother-in-law had been trying to meditate every day hoping to channel messages herself. After a few months of trying, she had been initiated as a medium too.
As she shared her experiences, I was curious and wondered how all this could happen. She invited us to wake up at 4 am the next morning with her. She channeled some messages through auto-writing and then handed me the book and pen and said, "Why don't you try?" I told her I had no such powers and there was no way I could do it.
She insisted I try and if it didn't work, I could pass on the notebook to my husband. So I took the book and as soon as I touched the pen to the paper, I felt strange. It was a surreal experience- I felt a rush of energy move through my arm and felt my hand move. I wrote my name repeatedly in Hindi, (wrong spelling and all) and it just got bigger and faster and I couldn't believe what was happening. I freaked out and gave the book to my husband. It was as if I had no power over my hand. He took the notebook and started to channel messages the very same day.
In that moment we both realized there was something beyond our control here. We both looked at each other and realized two things:
We couldn't deny what just happened.
We had so many questions.
We spent the rest of our time in India waking up every morning at 4 AM and making sense of this so-called gift and continued the practice when we got back to the U.S.
Each day we woke up, asked a new question, and got a one-page answer from our guides. The messages we received were succinct, to the point, and had incredible analogies that neither I nor, my husband would have ever thought of. It was as if we were tapping into a higher intelligence that was so much wiser than us.
Over the years we began to have so many experiences that we simply couldn't deny the presence of another world. I would channel messages from my loved ones, and other higher souls. I began reaching out for guidance in every aspect of my life and I noticed that whenever I asked for help, things worked out much better than I expected.
My faith got stronger and my intuition became one of my sources of power. I could feel the presence of my loved ones around me and this brought a sense of calm that I cannot even describe in words.
I was worried about sharing this with the world for fear of judgment, so I kept it to myself unless I felt compelled to share it with someone who could benefit from this gift.
Over the years, I found myself relying on it more and more. A few years ago I began sharing it with a few like-minded friends and after experiencing it first-hand, they insisted that I share it with the world as it could help so many people find peace and comfort.
I reluctantly agreed and put it out in a Facebook post. Little did I know that the post would change the trajectory of my life. Soon I began fielding multiple questions about how all this works and what it means.
To make it easier, I began organizing workshops to explain how being a medium has helped me and how tapping into our intuition can be the secret to finding answers to most of our problems.
The rest is history.
Have you ever felt an intuitive pull to do something that your human mind may have seen as irrational?
What if you could get customized guidance for your problems exactly when you needed it? If you look back, you might find that you already know what it is like to be guided. If this is something you struggle with and want to find out more, reach out because this is exactly what I do now.
Think about a time you decided on a job, home, a partner, or even chose your rescue pet. Something or someone guided you and you felt a strong pull to make that decision.
Think about a time when you thought of a friend and got a call or text from them.
We are all energetic beings and are constantly sending and receiving energetic hits from other beings.
I'd love to invite you to pay attention to the signs or synchronicities that show up in your life and explore them to see if there is more to it than a mere coincidence.
